In the year eleven...

2 months since my last post? What on earth have I been doing?!

Celebrating

The Christmas holiday, then my husband's birthday (we're the same age for 8 more days!), and Valentine's Day yesterday. My awesome hubby gave me a new laptop for Christmas, a Nook Color for Valentine's Day/birthday, and cooked me rack of lamb last night for dinner. He's the best!

Sewing

Finished several projects for Christmas. My nephew got a baseball themed rollie pollie chair. My niece and sister-in-law received matching mommy/daughter fashion scarves, sort of similar to this. My niece also got a dress-up "cape" so she could be like Fancy Nancy.

And my Dad received a flannel scarf I made for him for the cold winter he's enduring in the Chicago area.

No, I didn't remember to take pictures of any of these. I'm awesome.

Relaxing

This needs no explanation. I have used many of my weekends to relax at home with my husband, especially after the whirlwind of events during the holidays.

Working

I still work so I can make money. If I didn't have to work, I'd like to think that I would bake, craft, and blog way more often than I do now. That could just be wishful thinking though.

Exercising

I have been working out like I was before the wedding last year and really enjoying it. I am trying to keep my body healthier with both exercise and good eating habits. Most of the time, I do pretty well...and sometimes I eat cupcakes.

Hey, when I'm bad, I wanna make sure it's worth it, so the cupcakes are always REALLY good.

Reading

I decided sometime last year that I wanted to start reading books from the Top 100 novels of all time, both the Board's List and the Reader's List. I like to read a couple of them and then take a break with an easier (and often less intense) book.

Re-evaluating

I've been thinking of my goals for the year 2011. Instead of 2011 goals, I've decided to come up with a list of 30 things I want to do at the age of 30. That's right, I'm turning 30 in 8 days.

So instead of getting all depressed about the whole age thing, I am going to turn it around into something fun. I'll have 1 year to accomplish these 30 things. Some will be little, some will be silly, some will be really hard for me to do.

I plan to publish the list by the end of this week, so stay tuned!

Feel free to send any suggestions my way. I'm not guaranteeing that I will use any, but I'd love to see your ideas for me!

  7. Ahh 2 months?! I'm glad you're back! :) Do you remember when you were little and ages like 18 sounded ancient? Now, 30 sounds SO young! (I'm 27...close behind you!) Enjoy it! You're young and beautiful!
