Outfit #8...and #9?

It's been many moons since I wore a vest. I have owned this one for probably 4 (maybe more) years now and this is the first time I've worn it. I loved it in the store (plus it was on sale, score!).

But then I got home and was like...uhhhh...what do I do with you?

Maybe I tried it on and realized it's kind of big for me now.
But it's also a vest so I don't think it (or I) care if the size is a little off.

Except the...ahem..."chest" area is slightly gapping...and pointy. Weird.

Cousin Itt made an appearance.

It was actually still chilly enough mid-morning to keep my coat on for a few pics.

I think I can easily say that taking the vest off creates another outfit...don't you think?

Outfit #7...but I really wore it last Friday.

I had to cut off my head here...my eyes were all scary and wide and creepy...but am I more creepy without a head? Probably!

Ok, fine, here's my creepy face in a close up, ok? I think I looked like a freaky Nicole Richie here. Wait, do you have to say freaky before her name? I think it's already implied.

I'm seriously getting my mileage out of these teal heels already. I ADORE them!!

I'd be wearing them again today if I didn't have to walk around the airport.

I had browsed a lot but never bought from Endless until these shoes a couple weeks ago. I ordered them around 5:30pm on Thursday evening. They shipped out that day, free shipping, no tax, and arrived at my house on Friday afternoon! It was so exciting!

I've also discovered that this black tank I included is super resourceful for many outfits. I haven't even worn it alone yet.

And first time to wear this gray belt. It's too long to just wear at my natural waist, so I pulled it down a little and did this weird knot with it and I think it's kinda working for me.

I've always been a lover of skirts over dresses. I like the versatility of wearing a skirt with different combinations, but it's also just because my pear shape makes it difficult to find dresses that fit me.

So for the 30 for 30 challenge, I only picked one dress. I didn't want to include too many and then force myself to wear them.

Did I mention that maybe I've never even worn the dress before today? That's really sad.

I bought it this past spring and then just never did. Once summer came, it seemed better to wait until fall.

I've been on a gray and yellow kick all year. It may have something to do with these being my wedding colors...check out the bridesmaid dresses here. And once I picked those colors for the wedding, I saw them everywhere this year.

First day of wearing the tall heeled boots for the challenge. They do this weird scrunchy thing at my ankles...probably because I have big calves and skinny ankles.

that's confusing.
today I was a total bum. I literally only got dressed so I could go pick up pizza. I was cleaning or ironing or reading most of the day.
it was nice to just relax but maybe I should've put real clothes on early than 6:30pm.
yes, I do realize that I'm repeating everything but my shoes in today's outfit.

and I'm perfectly okay with that...especially since I'm only wearing it for like 4 or 5 hours...
ok, let's be honest...I'll probably take the belt and cardigan off in 2 hours.

Channeling Mondo

Day 4 of the challenge.

Anyone else obsessed with Project Runway? Specifically this last season and Mondo, who should've totally won the entire thing. Mondo was known for his use of pairing patterns and colors.

Maybe my outfit pairing isn't as crazy as some of his, but I'd like to think I still create a look that works here.

I definitely went for more of a casual look today. Also more comfortable with my flats on.

My feet love me again.

I didn't really need the scarf today. Just threw it on for some extra color.

If you hadn't noticed, I love bright colors!

And maybe I went ahead and switched out the yellow l/s sweater for another pair of flats. Just like Joey, my reasons were threefold.

1. My feet were hurting after 3 days of heels.

2. I also had a yellow tee and yellow jacket already in the mix.

3. I'm possibly going to Colombia next week for work and needed more flats for the trip.

Day 3 and I'm already regretting my choice of shoes. One pair of flats.

I obviously don't want to wear them everyday, so I'm trying to wear all my heels first.

I LOVE this yellow ruffle jacket. It's probably my favorite piece out of the 30 selected for the remix.

I was so close to switching out these yellow heels out of the remix for a 2nd pair of flats. But apparently my husband knows the rules of the game and said I'd be cheating. I guess it's good to have someone keeping me in check on this thing!

Looking at Kendi's outfit yesterday, I was getting down that I hadn't put even one polka dot piece in my selections. I have 2 cardigans, a dress, and several tops that are all cute and polka dotted.

Za-Za-Zing ... AKA Outfit #2

I'm not gonna lie. I feel hot in today's outfit. There's something about a fitted skirt and heels that makes a girl feel pretty.

Today's outfit is almost a complete opposite from yesterday. Where I had tons of color yesterday, I employed mostly black today with just a splash of color. I ended up with a sort of post-Halloween look...but hopefully not in a cheesy way.

I originally wrote down today's outfit to include the yellow ruffle jacket, not the cardigan. Without the jacket on, I asked my husband what he thought, he made a face and I said, "Too slutty?" and he confirmed. Haha. It's not that the black tank and black skirt are really slutty, but just slightly inappropriate for the office without something over it.

All black jewelry makes me think glammed up goth. I totally just made up that phrase.

Bracelet from H&M from my trip to DC at New Year's. Why don't they have a store even close to Texas?!!!

I put the black tank in the mix because it seemed so versatile. I have a feeling I will be wearing it with jeans one weekend. Or maybe again with the skirt and no cardigan for a night out with my hubby.

By the way, is anyone else major pear-shaped out there like me? See booty in Figure 1 above. I don't know about you, but I have a serious problem with the pencil skirt trend. It is NOT flattering on a big booty like mine. So this black skirt isn't a pencil skirt but it is straighter than I would normally wear. It's also a size bigger than I usually wear. I probably bought it 15 pounds ago, but I never got comfortable with it until recently.

But guess what? A dress size is merely a number! It doesn't mean anything! I mean, seriously, I probably have 4 different sizes when you look at my dresses and skirts.

I love my Steve Madden snakeskin heels!

I threw on this black sash and tied it as a last minute accessory. I think I needed some belt, but this was the closest I had. I think it kind of works. What do you think?
